Safeguarding Policy

Cumbria Assessment and Diagnostic Service (CADS) is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients and the public. This summary explains how we approach safeguarding in a clear and supportive way. The full Safeguarding Policy is available upon request.

 

1. Our Commitment

  • Your safety and well-being are our top priority.

  • All clients, regardless of their circumstances, have the right to be protected from harm.

  • Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility at CADS.

2. What We Mean by Harm

  • Harm can take many forms, including: physical, emotional, sexual, financial, or neglect.

  • CADS staff are alert to signs that someone may be at risk and will take appropriate action to ensure safety.

3. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Dr Attilio Colosi is the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) for CADS.

  • The DSL oversees the implementation of safeguarding procedures and provides advice to contractors.

  • All associates of CADS follow the safeguarding policy.

4. Responding to Concerns

  • If a CADS clinician has concerns about your safety, or the safety of others, they will take prompt action by contacting the appropriate authorities and following safeguarding procedures.

  • The focus is always on ensuring your safety and well-being in a timely and proportionate manner.

5. Confidentiality and Information Sharing

  • CADS respects your confidentiality.

  • In safeguarding situations, your safety and the safety of others may require sharing relevant information with the appropriate agencies.

  • Any information shared will be limited to what is necessary to protect you or others.
